Moonstone Faceted
Strange artifact at hand: very sui generis dystopia, fable about the power of destiny starring an old naval engineer named Neil Armstrong who has a moon rock fragment inherited from time immemorial by the paternal family. With this prized possession becomes the guru of a cult of worshipers of the moon, involved, among other trifles, to couple the light of the celestial body to breed a race of supermen. All but a helpless old Armstrong, who has to settle for others to see how fucked up he discovers that eating a minuscule portion of the moonstone faceted get erections more than satisfactory. The only drawback is that Armstrong's sexual desire is much higher than the stone, which will take you to devise a way to travel to the satellite for more reserves, thus becoming, if all goes well, the first man walked on the Moon . The mental horny Steve Smithson gives his C's with this novel charged, as is usual with him, only apparently absurd humor, halfway between their two teachers, Ballard and Lem. Neil Gaiman as noted in the preface, the author of Cleveland uses its "overtly humorous facet to discuss deep issues, and its most crucial topics to discuss trivial" always getting a strange sense of displacement, of unreality, reverie. Here, for the first time, shifts between the two sides within the same work, achieving mixed results and sometimes scattered, but always daring. Halfway between the epistolary novel, the diary and the unauthorized biography, this novel is in a no man's land inhabited by Mr. Smithson and the intrepid readers who dare to follow. Cowardly last. . . .
